Leicester Partnership Commissioning Group

The aim of the Leicester Partnership Commissioning Group is to develop and implement a fit for purpose joint commissioning framework for the Local Area Agreement.

Commissioning is the process of re-allocating resources according to agreed priorities, to meet the changing needs and aspirations of communities to achieve measurable outcomes in the most efficient and effective way possible. This includes identifying needs, planning, sourcing, and delivery including contracting, purchasing procurement and performance management.

Leicester is adopting a commissioning approach to -

  • ensure service delivery is targeted at priority groups and areas to help meet LAA/programme aims and strategic outcomes
  • avoid duplication of service; and
  • ensure cost effectiveness and value for money.

For more information and guidance on the commissioning process please go to the Leicester Partnership's commissioning page.
